Adrienne Hartzell, New Phil's Founding Executive Director, deftly guided the orchestra through its beginning and saw to it that we reached great heights. Outside of the music, Adrienne propelled the New Phil to the center of Newton's cultural scene while extending our reach deeper into Boston for outreach programs and performances at venues across the city.
Always at the front of arts conversations in Newton, Adrienne was appointed the Executive Director of the Newton Cultural Alliance in 2012. She led both the New Phil and the NCA until 2025. Newton and its arts organizations are lucky that she continues in her role at NCA where she has overseen the opening of The Allen Center, an historic, collaborative arts venue in West Newton and works on behalf of dozens of arts organizations.
