FAMILY DISCOVERY CONCERTS
Tell me about your children’s
concerts?
Our children’s concerts are specially programmed to
entertain and educate children about the joys of classical
music. Each one is narrated with a theme to bring out a special
aspect of the music we are performing. The music for this
concert typically includes an abbreviated version of our
Classics concert, performances by young musicians, and audience
marches around the room.
What ages are the Family Discovery Concerts suitable for?
We recommend the Family Discovery Concerts for children up
to 12 years old.
What is a petting zoo?
The petting zoo is a favorite New Phil tradition. After every
Family Discovery concert, the audience is invited to try
out all the instruments of the orchestra: strings, winds,
brass, and percussion. We even have child-sized string
instruments.
